The Story

I started producing handcrafted timber lures in 2008. My first lure caught fish was a yellow belly back in 1984. My passion for fishing began at an early age when my father would take my brothers and I on yearly trips out to the Western rivers of Queensland.

Days were spent gathering bait, rolling over dead ironbark trees looking for bloodworms, chipping away at dead pepperina and Kworajong trees to find fat wood grubs and handlining yabbies with a piece of string and meat.

I was primarily a bait fisherman for my first 20 years. In 1984 my oldest brother introduced me to lure fishing. My first lure caught fish was a yellow fishing from a canoe in the Condamine River. From here it never stopped. It wasn't until 2008 that I decided it was time to make my own lures.

After 24 years of lure fishing I knew what was required in a reliable lure. I have worked in the timber joinery business for 35 years and have a passion in working with timber. All lures are made from QLD red cedar and Old white beech. As the lures are handmade, there can be slight variations in size and shape. The density of timber used will also vary. That said, all care is taken to produce quality, performance lures.
